The cost of a private ambulance in Tunisia cannot be reduced to a single rate per kilometre. Two transports of similar distance can call for very different resources depending on the patient's condition, the level of support, the access conditions and how long the crew is committed. The most reliable approach is to give the exact characteristics of the journey and obtain a tailored quote.
The distance between the pick-up point and the destination is a first element, but not the only one. The quote also reflects where the ambulance starts from, any empty return leg, tolls, the expected duration of the journey and the time needed to settle the patient in and hand them over to the receiving team.
The level of support also weighs on the cost. A planned transport of a stable patient does not mobilise the same resources as a medicalised ambulance with monitoring, oxygen or additional staff. Those resources should only be planned when they are genuinely indicated and confirmed with the organising team.
